Designing, building, and supporting machinery for applications with a wide range of control and data requirements has required us to develop capabilites in disciplines that are not limited to equipment. Below are some of the services we can provide.
Control System Design
Selection of components for machine control applications and preparation of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
PLC Programming
Experience programming Allen-Bradley, Automation Direct, and Modicon PLC's.
HMI Programming
HMI (Human Machine Interface) application development using either the Aveva (Wonderware) or Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk suites of process visualization (InTouch), data acquisition, historical trending, and batch repoting software.
System Integration
As a small business that sells equipment to companies that are usually larger than our own, we are often required to integrate our control and data systems with building management systems and supporting equipment. This can involve the exporting and importing of data between disparate systems, and establishing live data links between these systems.
Equipment Upgrades
The durable nature of our mechanical designs results in our machines remaining in good physical condition beyond the supported lifetime of the original electronic and computerized controls. While obsolete electronics can keep working indefinitely, relying on obsolete components that might be difficult or impossible to replace is risky in a critical operation. Obsolete controls can also make it difficult to support communication between the older equipment and newer equipment that requires integration.
Equipment Troubleshooting
Our experience designing and supporting our own control systems has resulted in familiarity with a wide range of controls commonly used in industrial automation. This often enables us to troubleshoot and support equipment built by other manufacturers.
Equipment Relocation
There are rigging, millwright, and trucking companies that are better equipped and better staffed than we are to relocate our equipment. What we can do is disconnect machine wiring and prepare documentation while over-seeing the physical dissassembly of the equipment. After the equipment has arrived in the new location, we can over-see the physical reassembly, reconnect wiring, and get the equipment up and running as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Validation
The equipment we supply for pharmaceutical manufacturing is subject to FDA requirements. This requires an equipment validation process that includes an Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification, and a Performance Qualification. In cases where electronic records will be relied upon for FDA required reporting, additional qualification is required to demonstrate compliance with the regulations defined in Title 21 CFR Part 11. We can assist our customers with preparation and execution of the required validation protocols and supporting documentation to demonstrate FDA compliance.
Software Development
Programming with Visual Basic, VBA, and C++. Database application development for Microsoft SQL Seriver and Microsoft Access. Currently learning C# with a focus on application development for Microsoft .Net.
Project Management
Project management for software deployment and implementation of business database management systems as well as equipment installation and integration.
Database Migration
We can support the migration of business database management applications from older platforms to newer platforms that offer better performance or better functionality.
Other Computer Services
Support for Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word, etc), and Windows networking. Computer aided design with AutoCAD. Web design with HTML5 and CSS. Graphic arts with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
